Thinner thighs
Many people want to know how to get thinner thighs. Thinner thighs mean, to a lot of people, more attractive legs. Whilst this isn't always the case, too thin can be dangerous, in many cases slimming down wobbly thighs can be a very good idea.
As a society we are putting on weight all the time – our average weight is creeping up bit by bit. This is due to all sorts of things, alterations in our diet, our work lives becoming far more static and our personal lives being attached to computers and TVs rather than out and about.
All this is added to people feeling that thinner is prettier. It isn't, not always. But getting healthier is a good idea. This is the case with thighs as well as bellies.
About Thinner Thighs
With regards the efforts to get thinner thighs a few things need to be taken into account before we start trying to tone them up and lose weight. Firstly despite what you read elsewhere on the Internet it is next to impossible to target fat loss to a specific area.
Fat reserves are used for energy – but the fat used is not the same as the muscles used... the fat is used from all over your body.
Next is that it will take two things to loose fat from the thighs, exercise and dieting. One by itself will do some good – but for great looking thighs you will need to do both.
How to Get Thinner Thighs
So then how do you get thinner thighs? What's the secret?
Lean in and listen closely. And promise not to tell anyone. The secret is... there is no secret.
Sorry, no short cuts, no secrets, no clever tricks. Losing fat from your thighs takes hard work and dedication. You need to burn fat and tone the muscles. How you do that is by working hard.
Dieting
The main aspect of thinner thighs is not eating too much fat, and if you are not exercising much not eating too many carbs – both of which are easily stored as fat in the body. By contrast protein is easily burnt as energy and the body has issues converting it to fat.
There are all sorts of important dieting tips to help you lose weight but that deserves about 20 hubs all by itself...
Exercises
Let us instead focus on trying to tone up and get thinner thighs by exercise. There are a number of very useful exercises that you can do to help tone up, which ones you use depends entirely on what you find comfortable and what you like doing.
Squats. There are a number of varieties of squats, using weights, not using weights, different styles of lift. But in all cases they di a lot of work on the thigh area and can really help shape and tone your muscles. If you are worried about your thighs becoming too muscular keep the weights low and the reps higher – this tones without building muscle.
Walking. Amazingly walking is a very powerful exercise for helping tone your legs. If you want to concentrate on your thighs and bum then walking up hill will work the muscles that you want and get you toned quickly – on top of which it is a perfect fat burner for burning calories and boosting the metabolism.
Lunges. Like squats this exercise can be done with or without weights, depending on how much you want to tone, how much muscle you want to put on etc. In most cases, if you are not looking to develop very muscular thighs, a low weight with a large number of reps is the best way forward.
